Fly Business Class with Turkish Airlines

Turkish Airlines is one of the most popular airlines in the world. This title was obtained due to the fact that it is the largest carrier by the number of destinations to which it flies. At the moment it operates routes to 340 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. In early 2024, the flag carrier is finally opening a route to Sydney, making it officially an airline who flies to literally every single corner of the world.

Since the airline doesn't offer First Class, they have upgraded their Business class at the highest level, as to offer excellent services. Yet it varies depending on the route which is operated, and the type of the aircraft. Passengers in Business Class also have high-quality meals, beverages and amenity kits complementary to their fare.

The national carrier also has a loyalty program called Miles & Smiles, which is great for earning and using Turkish Airlines miles. It’s part of the Star Alliance network, so travelers can earn and use miles on various airlines. Elite members get extra benefits, like faster check-in and access to lounges, no matter what class they fly.

Airport Experience with Turkish Airlines Business Class

On their new aircrafts, Turkish Airlines business class seats offer an amazing experience, but before we get into the cabin itself, there is a need to assess its airport from different perspectives. They moved into a new terminal in Istanbul International Airport (IST)a few years ago, in order to be able to manage more flights and passengers easily. So, in case you start your trip from Istanbul, you may notice a lot of check-in counters, security lanes, and also priority lines for premium cabin passengers. The waiting time is usually short, and the airport also includes a lot of shops, restaurants, and resting places.

The airport’s business lounge features a mix of Turkish and international dishes. You can enjoy a wide variety of meals, starting from handmade manti and Turkish pide, to pasta, grilled meats, different options of salads and desserts. The beverage menu is pretty vast as well, offering beers, spirits, wines, and liqueurs from all around the world. There is also a playground for children and entertainment areas for adults, like billiards, video games and simulators. The lounge also features cinemas, working stations, showers, sleeping rooms, and even a massage therapist who moves within the airport providing his services for Turkish Airlines biz class passengers.

One disadvantage of the Istanbul Airport, is its size. Due to the fact that it provides a lot of facilities and amenities, it can take pretty long to arrive from one point to another, in between all the lounges, terminals and runways. Therefore, it is very important to take into consideration all these factors, and allow as much of a layover as possible between flights, so that you can fulfill all the desires of exploring this airport.

In other cities aside Istanbul, Business Class passengers usually have access to partner lounges when flying with the carrier, however it has its own lounges in a few cities, including Bangkok, Nairobi, Miami, and Washington Dulles.

Turkish Airlines Business Class Cabin & Seat

Turkish Airlines flights are being operated using a variety of aircrafts. Starting from models like Boeing 777-300ER and 787-9 Dreamliners for the longest routes, and ending with Airbus A330s and A350s. The older planes like B777s, have an older 2-3-2 configuration for business class, while the A330s provide a 2-2-2 layout during the flight. Even considering the old layouts, they are still providing lie-flat seats, lots of storing room and easy access to the aisle. If you choose a middle seat on these aircrafts, you can also enjoy a privacy screen. The B777-300ER’s cabin is divided into 2 sections, split by the kitchen, which is usually busy with the airline staff preparing the food and beverages.

The newest aircrafts, B787-9 and A350-900, have an upgraded and more accessible 1-2-1 layout, which offers a better overall experience, especially for window seat passengers. They can also be turned into 180 degree lie-flat seats, with the small disadvantage of being a bit narrower than the old models.

No matter which plane you're on, you'll have power outlets, USB ports, storage space, and comfy blankets and slippers. On longer flights, they even give you a mattress pad for extra comfort when sleeping. So, whether you are traveling with a companion or just as a solo traveler, business class with Turkish Airlines is one of your best choices.

Turkish Airlines Business Class Cuisine

Business class on Turkish Airlines offers one of the best dining experiences of all of its competitor airlines. When boarding the flight, the flag carrier offers a card that you can fill out with your personal meal choices and serving times, so that you will not to be disturbed when taking care of work or sleeping. On a lot of flights, you’ll have a chef physically present in the aircraft preparing and serving the food, making it feel like a real restaurant experience. They are setting up stylish trolleys with decorative elements featuring the carrier's trademarks.

Before meals, passengers get hot towels to clean their hands and refresh themselves. The whole experience starts with a drink and some snacks. The chefs will help you choose your main dish. Appetizers and salads are served from a trolley, and you can choose what you like or try a bit of everything, including a selection of Turkish mezze and bread. Main courses are served in a fancy way, with designer plates and no trays, directly on your table, with options like beef, chicken, seafood, pasta, and Turkish-style dishes. Desserts are a big deal, with lots of cakes, fruits, cheese, and Turkish sweets. Then there's coffee, tea, and Turkish delight to finish off.

The whole meal service is a big part of the experience on Turkish Airlines. On long flights, they also have snacks like fruits, nuts, cookies, and chocolate available, and yet, before the actual landing, the carrier will serve another meal, which is usually a hot dish with an appetizer.

Turkish Airlines Business Class Beverages

Before the plane departs, for their business class passengers, Turkish Airlines offers you a choice from different juices or water. They are usually not offering Champagne or other alcoholic drinks from the beginning, but in case you request it, they’ll provide it without any arguments. The variety of soft drinks starts from homemade lemonade with mint and ends with fresh juices like orange and apple. You can also enjoy various sodas, ayran, turkish yogurt and others. Coffee, teas and chocolate milks are also available.

During the flight they usually have a couple of types of wines, local and international ones, sparkling wines, and sometimes Champagne. Beer lovers can enjoy the Turkish Efes, however this might not be the only beer served. They’ve got a wide choice of spirits as well, including whiskey, vodka, and Turkish raki. They are serving mocktails and detox drinks as well. Every single passenger can always ask for a refill, regardless of the drink type.

Turkish Airlines Business Class Amenities

On long flights, Turkish Airlines provides special amenity kits for their business class flights. Men receive a kit from Hackett London, and women get one from Coccinelle. These kits include things like eye masks, earplugs, socks, a shoe bag, and toothbrush sets. Passengers also get blankets, slippers, and bags for shoes.

Turkish Airlines also provides special kits for their young travelers, which is also nice touch. Families with babies can ask for seats with a bassinet, but it's best to book those early to make sure they're available.

The airline has also introduced new, comfortable bedding, with a soft pillow, a thick blanket, and a mattress cover. On top of that, for their onboard in-flight entertainment facilities, they are providing a pair of noise-canceling headphones. To top it all, in the bathrooms, there's nice-smelling air freshener and hand lotion, providing a homey atmosphere.
